Catherine Graham - 4th Grade '06-'07 Room D -128
Providence School Mission Statement: Providence School, in partnership with home and church, seeks to prepare each student scholastically, socially, and spiritually to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century. Background: I graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education in 2000 and completed my Masters degree in Instructional Technology in 2004. This will be my eighth year teaching, my third year at Providence. I have been married for fifteen years to my husband, Tony, who also teaches here at Providence. We have two children, Austin, who is in seventh grade, and McKenzie, who is in fourth grade. Both play soccer. I have coached Austin's team for 8 years. This will be our 16th season. Go Quicksilver! I coach the middle school girls' soccer team here at Providence. This will be our third year! Go Stallions! I will also be helping with the 3rd-5th grade girls' volleyball team. We are actively involved at Mandarin Christian Church, now CCM. Tony and I will welcome Zachary Ryan to our family sometime this March. We are so excited! Thank you for your prayers.

Classes Note to parents May 2008 The students have come so far with their reading and writing skills this year. Ask your student to show you the paragraph dance. It's silly but they will never forget the proper components of a good paragraph. Through independent writing each week combined with small group and whole class writing, where I model for the children each step of the writing process, the children have learned to formulate, compose with vivid details, and revise great paragraphs. I'm so proud of their progress, and we've had fun doing it! Please encourage your child to continue reading and writing this summer. Have discussions about the books they are reading. They will be excited to share the details with you. The more they read, the better reader they will become. If they do not continue to practice what they have learned this year, they will lose it over the long summer break. Thank you for all of your help this year. I know it has been challenging, but the children have done an amazing job.
