You are expected to act as adults, treating each other and me with respect, courtesy, and kindness; this class will impact your future, both immediately and in the future (May graduation and college next year)--it is not play period; 2. No eating or drinking in class; 3. Nothing sails through the air in my classroom; "nothing" includes books, paper, writing implements, or trash. In other words, do not practice your hoopshots with my garbage can! 4. All work must be handed in on time. No daily work may be made up after one week. School sponsored events do no excuse papers or projects. If you have an assignment due for me but you leave school early FOR ANY REASON, the assignment should be given to me before you leave. 5. Plagiarism of ANY kind will not be tolerated and will be submitted to the deans for disciplinary action. 6. All work done outside of class must be typed. If your printer is broken, email me the paper to show me that it is completed and then print it out at school. Save copies of all work. 7.. All work done in class must be in blue or black ink. 8. Please do your homework; please read your assignments. 9. Active, valid class participation does count. Do not attempt to distract me or your classmates if you personally don't feel the need to work. 10. If you have questions or concerns, please speak with me after class.
IMPORTANT: You will be required to submit your written assignments to turnitin.com several times this year. You will be given at least one week’s notice to write any assignment which must also be uploaded into the system; after the deadline as set on turnitin.com as submission due date has expired, you will lose 25 points from the paper grade and will have one more week to submit the paper to the system before the assignment is counted as a zero. Be aware that neglecting to upload required papers will result not only in lost points but also in a disciplinary referral which will be submitted to the dean.
You can log in to turnitin.com at any time to verify your password or a due date prior to submission. Please also note that Mr. Graham can help load your paper into the system from a disk, which you should label with your name and grade level; however, you must take into account his schedule and plan ahead if you are unable to access Turn It In and expect his help in loading your paper in time to meet the deadline.
*** A reminder: This year Providence School has gone to online progress reports. Though you may be able to see different grades and cumulative averages, the progress reports are not in any way CURRENT or ACCURATE except for during the published progress report release times. Should you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the grade level counselor.

******On the Advanced Placement Literature and Composition Examination, which you are required to take in May, 2008, there are three essay questions. One of these free response questions which evaluates how well you know a specific novel or play which is "AP-worthy" in subject matter and style. The essay question lists suggested titles for the student to use but also allows the student to choose his/her own. Here is a list of all the suggested titles since 1972 and the years in which they were suggested. Students who are successful on this examination are those who are well-read. The listed novels and dramas are considered "AP-worthy." AP Open Question Title Suggestions
