Third grade uses a token economy.  Each student will have a card and will be awarded points for good behavior.  Points will be taken away for infractions of the rules and for homework that is incomplete or not turned in.  At the end of two weeks, each child may trade their points in for items in the class "treasure box."

Consequences for good behavior choices:

Students are given points for writing down homework, getting planner signed, and obedience in classroom, hallway, or lunch.  These points will acrue for two weeks and then be used to buy things from the treasure box.

Consequences for poor behavior choices:

Students will be given a warning first.  If the student proceeds to disobey, points will be taken away.  If a student is persistent in poor behavior choices, the parent will be contacted, and they will serve a time-out during recess.
