Tech Times - 4th Quarter is here. Yee-haaa. For all grades we will be finishing up spreadsheets, working on databases, using Publisher and creating slideshows/movies. The second grade will make a brochure using Publisher for a state they are learning. Kindergarten and 1st grade are making ABC picture books on animals. Third - Fifth grade will be learning how to edit photographs.
Request: Please send in photos of your family (4 or 6 or more) by the first week in April. We will be doing a project using these photos. You can send them on a disk, email them to me at jyee@prov.org, sminchew@prov.org or send in hard copies so that I can scan them and get them back to you. Please label with name and teacher name. Kindergarten-5th Grade Computer Class
Computers are extremely important in today's world. We have lots of new software. We have KidPix, Oregon Trail and a few others. We are still using the same curriculum callled Learning Computers by Thomson - South-Western. We have a class set of stand up books so each student is able to see exactly what should be on their computer screen. This makes it easy for them to hear what needs to be done and then also see it in their books. The activities vary from exploring many facets of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, slideshows, the internet, and to correct typing techniques while learning. At the end of each lesson is a keyboarding lesson to improve on their keyboarding skills. We still have Jumpstart for each grade level.
Resource - We are dedicated to helping out the classroom teacher in whatever they may be studying or learning. We want to be able to enrich the classroom experience by incorporating themes, ideas, authors, and subjects to enhance and build on the student's learning.

Computer Whiz & Super Computer Whizzes
I will be choosing 1 boy and 1 girl to be Super Computer Whizzes/Star Students. These students show exemplary behavior and follow directions. They will receive a treat for that day.
