ART
A Biblical Perspective
We draw close to God when we create for His glory, because we are reflecting part of His nature. Even the common Crepe Myrtle flower reflects the creative hand of God: delicate, perfect curves. My heart's desire is to encourage our students to honor God in their Artwork. As we create, through struggle or joy, together we will see that the "hand" of our precious Lord is in each part of our lives.

2007-2008 Course Program Objectives
The students will study and practice the Elements and Principles of Design through observation and examination of great and/or well-known artists. Each month an artist will be highlighted. For example, we will study the French artist Henri Matisse who developed the art of drawing with scissors in his later years. Later we will study color through the works of Vincent van Gogh. Many people do not realize that he was a Christian believer. We will look at some of the experiences of his short and tragic life. Other months will feature artists such as Kandidsky, Renoir, Remabrandt, Velazquez, Degas, Monet, Pollock, and Cezanne.
